Welcome to the REFRESHER program‚ EngageCare.
This is an opportunity to refresh, or learn more about the value of incorporating integrated participation and engagement techniques into the lives of people living with a disability; especially those with an intellectual disability.
The role of the Disability Support worker is a dynamic one. It is more than just providing physical care. The job is about making real connections, and encouraging participation in routine, normal tasks. It's about treating the person with dignity and respect in the acknowledgement that they have needs, interests and preferences that will make their lives more fulfilling.
